WRITING:

Last Wednesday for NaNoWriMo & SavvyAuthorsEntangled Smackdown.

I passed 50K last week and verified the word count Monday night to get the Winner’s Goodies. I’ll rest when the story’s over. Until then, I’m taking part in the writing sprints for bonus points to help my #Fire_Divas team for the Smackdown. It’ll also help get this story finished even though the word count goal’s already been reached.

WRITING:

I can’t believe there’s just one week left in the writestravaganza I’ve immersed myself in for NaNoWriMo & SavvyAuthorsEntangled Smackdown.

As of yesterday, I’m at 57,458 words.

The writing continues. I want to see how many more words I can hammer out before the end of the month.

READING:

Does listening to books count? I’ve been listening to Robert McKee‘s Story to keep me on track. More audiobooks to follow as we pull into the final stretch of the month. It’s a great way to multitask because I’m running out of hours in the day to get everything done, ya know?

WRITING:

It’s hard to believe that we’re already in the second half of November, let alone nearing the end of the year.

Week Three of NaNoWriMo & SavvyAuthorsEntangled Smackdown, here we come.

By yesterday’s count and indicator on my handy-dandy NaNoWriMo widget, I’m at 77% of the 50K word count goal. I plan on writing at least another 20K after that so I think I’m at a good pace with the story. Aside from the previous murder victims, no new bodies have turned up but there’s still time. 🙂

WRITING:

In true delayed fashion, I’m starting to have fun with my thriller WIP for NaNoWriMo & Entangled Smackdown over at SavvyAuthors.

<insert evil laughter here>

I’ve read that we’re supposed to give our characters a hard time and/or come up with the worst possible scenarios for them AND put them through it. I love my characters and there’s something oddly satisfying when they’re put through the literary wringer. I’m not a sadist. It’s clear that as a writer I’m definitely a masochist, but amping up the tension and conflict is as exciting for me to write as I hope it will be for others to read. 🙂

WRITING:

And now we’re diving into Week Two of NaNoWriMo & Entangled Smackdown over at SavvyAuthors.

As of last night, I’m about 45% of the way through the draft, though not without some changes to the game plan. I have a boatload of notes on stuff I want to change while I keep writing forward. I’ve done my best not to go back and edit as I draft. I don’t want to taint the established word counts and I know it will also leave me piddling around when I should be producing more story.

It’s nice to get the words out with more ease again. There were a few days last week when the digits (phalangeal, not word count) wouldn’t budge or when they did, they were uncooperative. That sensation is gone and I’m chugging ahead.
