Say What?!

ROW80Logocopy

Already into the third week of the new year?

WRITING:

H.O.M.E.W.O.R.K.

Also, ermahgerd. HomeWORK.

Yet, I’m enjoying it. I wonder if we do a search through my blog how many times the word ‘masochist’ pops up?

READING:

So, about that huge dent and/or finishing NetGalley Thy Kingdom Fall by Austin Dragon. LAMEsauce. Didn’t happen. And it’s not for a lack of trying–although trying only managed a few chapters further into the book. No dent. Not even a ding. Still, I read on.

At least I haven’t received The 2014 Sandy Writing Contest entries yet. Someone up there is smiling or smirking down on me.

NETWORKING:

Study groups. I love ’em. In fact, I’ll do more gushing about that soon. It’s directly related to what I’ve learned this week and what I’m planning for the rest of the semester. Anyhoo, for the moment, back to study groups. They can certainly take a lot outta ya. I’ve met people from diverse backgrounds in my French and Mandarin classes. I enjoy the group dynamic and I feed off the group energy. Real people are cool. True story. #writersnewlyoutofselfimposedsolitaryconfinement

Hump Day, the Third

ROW80Logocopy

So, the year began on a hump day. Has it been three already?

Gah!

Tooooo fast.

However, I must be having fun if time insists on flying.

WRITING:

The coursework rolls on, as does that new story idea that I’m NOT SUPPOSED TO BE WORKING ON, but for which I’m continuously generating new ideas.

What a Hump Day!

ROW80Logocopy

And I mean this with the utmost glee.

Here’s why.

WRITING:

I finally–FINALLY–got to attend a Write-In for The Other Eleven Months, a NaNo Writing Group. Not only did I do word sprints for Aaralyn’s Song and Greatest Hits, but I had the added pressure of actually hearing the clickety clacking of keys as we typed away at the coffee shop. (We’re in a booked room so it’s not obnoxious or anything. hehe)

READING:

I got hold of my books, nine tangible goodies in the MG/YA realm, and I’m excited to dig in. I also got another pre-approval for a MG adventure over at NetGalley. Add that to the list I’ve yet to read there. I’m thinking of going through those first (after my current one) and I’ll save the physical books for Middle Grade May, should there be another reading contest. 🙂

NETWORKING:

Schedules are coming together for March Madness and I’m excited. I’m still in the planning stages, so I’ll post more about that as we draw near.

LEARNING:

Here’s the biggest yay of the week, thus far. I’m loving going to a physical class again–without the real pressure of days gone by. I’m enjoying the material and face time with other mortals. One tends to forget that when taking the solitary writing path.

Enjoy the rest of the week. I’ve got lots to do and must be off!

2014 #ROW80 Round 1: WRITE!

ROW80Logocopy

Well, well. Fancy seeing you here. Five days into 2014 and already we’re kickin’ up a dust storm of frenzied activity.

Love. It.

Back on New Year’s Day, I posted my goals for January, as well as 2014. Some progress has been made despite minor setbacks hither and thither.

In the interest of sharing, I’d like to present:

Tonette’s Week in Review, the YAY BOO Edition
